Located in Dawson Creek and in Fort. St. John, and Fort Nelson our company has over 20 years with Imperial Oil. We offer card lock services and a well stocked warehouse of products ready to suit our clients immediate needs.

Imperial Oil is one of Canada's largest corporations and a leading member of the country’s petroleum industry. It is one of Canada's largest producers of crude oil and natural gas, is the country's largest petroleum refiner, and has a leading market share in petroleum products sold through a coast-to-coast supply network that includes close to 2,000 service stations.

Imperial Oil is committed to conducting its business in a way that protects the health and safety of its employees, others involved in its operations, customers and the general public. The company is also committed to environmental protection and the broader integration of environmental and economic priorities in all aspects of its business.

Oil sands

Imperial is a major developer of Canada's vast oil sands located in north-central Alberta where the company holds a significant land position with about 465,000 acres of quality oil sands leases.

Cold Lake

Imperial's 100 percent owned and operated Cold Lake development is a premier oil sands asset and one of the largest thermal heavy oil recovery operations in the world. Imperial has pursued a phased development approach at Cold Lake, bringing on new volume as market conditions allow. Production from Cold Lake was piloted from the mid-1960's and commercial production began in 1985. Since then, 13 phases of commercial production have been started up at Cold Lake with almost 4,000 active wells on the site.

Refineries and chemical manufacturing plant

Imperial is Canada's largest refiner of petroleum products and a major producer of petrochemicals. The company owns and operates refineries in Edmonton, Alberta; Sarnia and Nanticoke, Ontario; and Dartmouth, Nova Scotia; as well as a chemical manufacturing plant in Sarnia.

Imperial Oil conducts research primarily in two facilities: downstream oil refining-related research in Sarnia, Ontario and upstream oil production-related research in Calgary, Alberta. Both research facilities are leading edge, premier petroleum research organizations in Canada with many patented inventions to their credit.

Calgary research centre

From its beginning in 1955, the Calgary research centre has been a leader in the development of improved oil and natural gas recovery technologies. Over the past several years, with the increasing importance of Alberta's mineable oil sands, research focus has gradually shifted to support this core area of the company's business. In Calgary, research is conducted primarily in the areas of bitumen recovery (in situ, mining and extraction-based), in improving the quality of the extracted bitumen and in minimizing impact on the environment.

Imperial invented and held patents on cyclic steam stimulation (CSS) and steam-assisted gravity drainage (SAGD), two key processes used in the in situ recovery of bitumen. Researchers at our Calgary research facility have continued to refine these technologies to increase production rates and improve environmental performance. Recently, researchers piloted an innovative process to improve CSS with the addition of hydrocarbon solvent. This enhanced technology improves recovery, and reduces water and energy requirements. It will be applied commercially at the Cold Lake operation in 2007.

Multiple patents have been issued to Imperial Oil in the area of bitumen processing where improving the quality of the bitumen for transportation and refining are the primary focus. Novel technologies to remediate and reclaim former production leases, and to significantly increase water recycle in situ operations have also been developed.

Recently through a $10-million, five-year investment in the Imperial Oil-Alberta Ingenuity Centre for Oil Sands Innovation at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Imperial Oil will explore and develop more efficient, economically viable and environmentally responsible ways to mine, extract and upgrade Canada's oil sand resources.
